Ubisoft has today announced Far Cry 4, which release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in November this year.
Set in Kyrat, a fictional region in the Himalayas governed by a self-appointed king, Far Cry 4, like its predecessors, will be an open-world first-person shooter with a variety of unique geographic features and wildlife.
"Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans' expectations," says Dan Hay, the game's executive producer, on the official Ubisoft blog.
"Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we're eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months."
Ubisoft Montreal is leading the development of Far Cry 4 in collaboration with Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev.
Far Cry 4 will release in New Zealand on November 21, according to new listings on Mighty Ape. The retailer has the game priced at $108 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and $88 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
Additionally, Ubisoft revealed that all pre-orders for the game will be automatically upgraded to the Limited Edition, which includes three bonus single-player missions starring Hurk from Far Cry 3 and the Impaler harpoon gun.
Only one official image has been released (above), with Ubisoft planning to show off the first gameplay footage of Far Cry 4 during their press conference at E3.
